This humidifier has a decent performance, yet its old fashioned design is quite an eye sore. However, we do like the fact that it has a fused safety plug, something which we rarely see in humidifiers.
Dry air can cause a lot of discomfort, and even lead to certain respiratory systems; it affects not only humans but the objects around them as well, such as making wood furniture crack. The solution for this kind of problem is to have a humidifier in the house; one type which is very efficient is the evaporative one, like the Lasko 1128 humidifier that we’re going to present in what follows. What you do need to be on guard about is that some types of humidifiers can produce what is termed white dust, usually as a result of using highly mineral water from the tap. Thus, if you add filtered water, chances of dealing with white dust are reduced.
Where design is concerned, the Lasko 1128 Evaporative doesn’t look like much, but humidifiers, in general, are not that spectacular in appearance. It has a simple white plastic casing with rounded lines and presents a clear plastic regulator that allows you to determine when the container needs to be refilled. It features two simple switch buttons on top, that you use to turn it on and off and to choose between one of the three speeds of humidification.
As mentioned above, the Lasko 1128 Evaporative Humidifier has three speeds of humidity evaporation, thus being able to perform well on areas as large as 3200 square feet. But you don’t need to worry about over-humidification if you just need it to perform in one room because then you can just opt for the lowest speed. Moreover, this humidifier comes with a 4 and a half gallon container, and at maximum performance levels, can evaporate up to 9 gallons of water per day.
This is a pretty impressive feat, especially for a device this small. The humidistat allows you to set a specific level of humidity, depending on what your needs are. It is easy to use and transport and its manufacturer advertises it cannot over-humidify, or create white dust. We recommend you use filtered water nonetheless, if not for the white dust, then in order to prolong the device’s life. Moreover, be clear about the fact that this evaporative humidifier produces only cool moisture, so it wouldn’t be as appropriate for the flu, or someone sick. It is a recirculating humidifier with continuous flow and water recirculation.
The fused safety plug is another nifty little feature, ensuring the safety of the product and preventing mishaps; moreover, the humidifier is made a bit more interesting by the cascading waterfall that lets you know it is in function. Try to read as many reviews before purchasing a product like this, and pay attention to what customers that have used it have to say about it as well because that’s how you get a more practical vision of what you’re about to invest in.
